and now for something completely different

Can anyone explain the thinking on last night's Jeopardy? Two of the three contestants flunked out of the game before Final Jeopardy, leaving ONE GUY to compete. Against no one. Even if he lost on the final question, he still would have WON THE GAME. So given that there is NO RISK WHATSOEVER other than money HE DOES NOT HAVE--- how much money does he risk? Does he risk most of his $28,000? Or, like, half of his $28,000? Does he do what any sane person would do and BET IT ALL?

No. No he doesn't. He bets a measly $1200.

I don't know why, but it makes me want to punch that guy in the face.

Bean spent yesterday with Wandering Nana. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall to watch the two of them. I understand that there was cookie making instead of a nap. Lunch was consumed. Cookie dough was eaten. And general merriment was had. Thank heaven for good friends.

I have no interest whatsoever to watch a "Gray's Anatomy Music Event". I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings. I just had to say it.

We're having Bean's much-belated-due-to-illness birthday party on Saturday. Anyone know of any good party games for the 2 to 3-year-old set? I'm thinking of games best played indoors with no clear winners, since the entire concept of winning/losing is sort of moot at this point in Bean's life. What do you think? Any last bits of advice/warning?

THERE ARE RAW EGGS IN COOKIE DOUGH.

Needed to post that first one as a separate comment as to communicate the urgency.

Now, on birthday parties, I would not suggest Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Griffon has gone to two parties recently with this game, and it just really confuses the crap out of 3-year-olds. They do tend to like pinatas, but again, at this age, tend to walk right in front of the swinging stick. Also don't particularly understand the turn-taking.

I also would recommend, unless there are family members involved, NOT opening presents at the party. The kids all want to play with the presents they brought and then start melting down that they presents aren't theirs. This actually turned into blows over a banjo at a party we went to a few months ago. I'm not kidding.

We just had Fussbot's party and he had 4 friends over to play games, eat cake and run amok. We played bean bag toss (purchased at walgreens for $5 because I saw it in the Easter isle and thought it would be fun- it was a hit) I also had a ring toss set up that they weren't into and we did some coloring. Mostly they wanted to run around and play their own games which was fine. And they wanted to eat. A lot.

We watched that show.... I asked Mark the same question..."What was he thinking?" Did you like Alex's little poke at him. I thought the guy looked very annoyed.

Oh, PS You forgot to mention that this was my conversation with her...
Me: Alice, here, try some cookie dough.
Alice: You don't eat cookie dough.
Me: Oh yes you do...it's really good. try it. (I give her a chocolate chip with cookie dough on it). Do you like it
Alice: Yes.
Me: Do you want some more?
Alice: Yes. Can I have the chocolate chip without the dough?.
